This Week in Speech

For part of our lesson this week I am having some of the students create their own comics at makebeliefscomix.com/comix. This challenged the students to create a short story that they had to explain pictorially and with small amounts of dialogue and captions. I love this website because it makes it easy and fun for the student to create a comic.

They can click on different characters to use and adjust their size and stance in the boxes. They can also input different objects, scenery, background colors, talk bubbles and thought bubbles.

This website also has online printables including comics with empty talk and thought bubbles which would be good to use with students with autism in order to improve perspective taking.
